Contrary to some opinion, solicitation is not entirely within the realm of the street-walker. Lawyers do it too! Today, Nadine was admitted to the roll of Queensland Solicitors in Brisbane this morning!
No one objected to this appointment and all went smoothly in court, complete with fancy wigs and an appearance by Chief Justice S. Clause!
It’s been a long road, full of speeding fines and slight detours, but ‘everybody would do it if the road were easier’.
Congratulations Nadine!

Nadine and I bought some yeast the other day in hopes of making our own delicious pizza dough. On the of the box we found a recipe for cinnamon buns and realized that we already had all of the ingredients! Why we ever bought mixed spice in the first place is beyond me.
Regardless, the cinnamon buns turned out delicious with walnuts and icing sugar on top. We look forward to cooking more tasty treats!

Congratulations to Nadine for graduating and attaining her LLB. It was quite a weekend with her birthday being so close. The days flew by so quickly and I am proud of her accomplishments.
Her parents were able to fly up for the weekend. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the ceremony, but there was an overflow room down in Don’s Tavern. I couldn’t attend that either because I was planning a party, but I heard that drinks were being served!

Nadine’s current plans include taking the Professional Legal Training(PLT) course at Bond which begins on Monday. It’s an intensive course involving being ‘at work’ from 9-5 each day. Practical legal skills are taught to succeed in the working world, and the program can be taken in lieu of an articling year.
Happy Birthday Nadine LLB!

An Aussie gentleman is a rare breed. This un-scientific postcard offers only a glimpse into the psyche of the man. He is bold and brazen, rash, crass, and lazy. It’s a wonder why chivalry is dead.
With Nadine’s encouragement I’ve decided to test my mettle and see how I fare. Using a simple yay or nay system, I have tabulated my results based on arbitrary notions of whether I’ve heard or used that word in proper conversation.

Yay: G’day mate, He’s Blotto, Fair dinkum, Your shout, Go on, Whadayawant?, Howya going? (Total: 7)
Nay: You Little Ripper!, Rack off, Pull ya head in, Wanna Rage?, You Drongo, Have a Chunder, You pong, Bloody oath!, Give it a go ya mug! (Total: 9)
Whew, 7 of 16! That was a close one, apparently I’ve still got some class about me. Learn some slang and see how you rock up! Leave a comment with your tally.
Zach speaking Australian? I don’t know what you’re talking aboot.
